The Purple Axolotls are happy to announce that we were extremely successful at the 2026 AeroCoast League Tournament this year. We won four out of six qualification matches with impressive performances, earning additional bonus ranking points and rising all the way to a tie for 3rd/4th place, locking in our advancement to the playoffs. We allied with team 15297 Legacy and formed a harmonious duo with our far-shooting robot and their close-shooting robot, leaving us undefeated until the championship, where we lost a tense first match. However, we came back and ultimately secured victory and our title as Winning Alliance of the 2026 AeroCoast League Tournament.
We were also recognised for the elegant and efficient design of our robot via the first-place Design Award. We impressed the judges with our rotating turret, the elegant subsystems of our robot, and our ability to explain the functionality and decision-making process that led to such a well-designed bot via a structured judged interview.
Thanks to our performance at this tournament, we are happy to announce that we have successfully secured a bid to advance to the Florida State Championship this March. We are extremely proud of all the hard work we have put in this season, the things we have learned, and the people we have met along the way.
